It is a fancy sounding name for our special area of chosen products that we think will interest you. Please take a look now and get a little taste of what is to come. The Shoppe is a wee bit skimpy on products at the moment but now that we have a real killer little store in place as our hub of operations, we can special order and stock just about anything the cycling world has to offer. And of course, deliver it up to you on a silver platter via UPS, FedEx or even the Post Office. So look for us to round out our offerings in the very near future. Fine Touring Equipment

Gilles Berthoud, a famous French cycling accessory maker, has out of this world bags, panniers, fenders, frames and other exclusive equipment for the Gentleman who has everything. Cycling doesn't have much of a "softer" side, so fashion in accessories has always been scant. Now, Berthoud has dozens of bags, like the handlebar bag above, with the old world stitching, leather and dense canvas which are so well built, you can pass them along down several generations. And to keep all your Berthoud leather goods properly ointmented, the Leather Conditioner below does the trick as only a tradition over 100 years old can do.

Cats Meow de Cyclo-Cross

This is how a cat feels.............

This tubeless tire from Tufo is so soft and supple and sticky where it needs to be, this must surely be how a cat feels when it travels across terrain. Imagine feeling every square inch underneath you and as you ride though the off road environs, tires like this make you a better rider. Take a look at the parachute looking material in the sidewall. Forget the puncture protection, this is about as pure and natural as a tire can be. Sort of the cats' meow of cyclo-cross, nifty, nimble, neat, nice and well crafted tire will let you stalk your prey on the course or in your own back yard. Literally sneak up on people with these quiet incredibly sure footed tires.

Clement Tires Live On

A travel back in time ...

Would reveal that Clement is the tire to beat in races throughout the 80's and 90's. Clement was bought by Pirrelli and the production was moved to Thailand. After eight years, Pirelli backed out and left the facility in the hands of the employees. The old Clement tires aren't being made anymore under that name and now the name is "Challenge" and in many cases the new Challenge tires are virtually indistinguishable from the original Clement tires. For those who require authenticity can still get Clement tires. For years the tires were imported by EuroAsia who stockpiled many of the rare and hard to find racing tires. When recently asked, EuroAsia said they had plenty of the old Clement tires left and that includes the Criterium and Pista and others as well. Not cheap. but when looking for an edge, why not use a really good tire albeit 15 year old ones? The tires are still good and will scare the pants off any riders who catch the logo. Be feared.... Ride Clement.

Smooth As Silk

Another Dugast tire, this one made of silk.

The pink color looks as if it is glowing from the inside. It reminds one of an old cigar box with the lettering on the tire. A tire like this would be used only for races and at close to $200 a tire, one would assume that one would fly with this pink baby. With a very serious look, this kind of tire wins a place in our hearts and would probably win a medal at the county fair if there was such a contest.

Special Reserve

Like a box of fine cigars

or a rare bottle of wine, tires of this ilk are hard to find. Few suppliers carry them and they are soooo expensive but you will go faster if that matters to you. Andre Dugast makes tires in the Netherlands and they make them the old fashioned way. Sometimes using cotton or sometimes using silk, the rubber is laid up by hand and tires like this generally have only one layer with maybe one layer of puncture protection. The trick to a good racing tubular tire is to make them with out a bump where the valve stem is. A lot of tubulars don't lay flat. Dugast makes a striking retro style tire that looks like a throwback from days gone by. But don't be fooled, these are very modern, just made by hand.
