Finer things in life don't always have to be expensive. High End tires like Hutchinson for example will remind you of a well made leather jacket or an expensive suit. The MTB tires they make all have that expensive clothing feel, like when you get into a pair of real real high end jeans and even though the outside looks good, the inside feels great when you put them on and the detailing on the inside is as good as the outside. Good clothing pays attention to what can be seen and what can't. This is why when you touch and inspect the Hutchinson line of tires, you realize the tires feel real good on the inside and they look and feel great on the outside. A lot of tires look good, and some feel good when you touch them, but very few feel as good on the inside as they do the outside like the Hutchinson's.

What happens is when the casing is made, fabric is chosen based on wear and suppleness. Fine leather goods are supple yet have a finish to them that resists wear. Installing a pair of tires like the Barracuda, or Python or the Toro will allow you use less air in your tires but not at the expensive of the tire wearing out. Customers reports these tires last for years when used recreational (1 - 2 rides a month) and when taking pictures, all the tires impressed us with the very simple yet bold detailing and logos. The treads are unique and are not copies of any other companies treads at all. Each tire is distinct and there is very little overlap in use.
Hutchinson won the Gold Medal in MTB at the 2008 Olympics because the tires are very reliable. The company produces road tires, MTB tires and city/urban tires. Hutchinson makes tires that look visibly better but are not expensive.

Not exactly wine tasting, but describing a tire like the Toro can call upon the same skills. Try this: When gently grazing the tip of the fingers across the inside of the tire and all along the edges, the areas give the sensation of a cloth similar to a swatch of cotton fabric with a slight but forgiving coating. Not unlike a miniature corduroy, the inside gives no indication that any metal is present. The outside when brushed with the thumb gives off a little squeak just like the bottoms of some rain gear boots but at the same time gives in ever so gently. The Toro has a clean appearance with high sidewalls standing proudly up and out, pushing its small square tread into place as little terrain grabbing sentries. A rugged tire, it has a scent of a far away smoke which is normal in a tire with such a high concentration of rubber. The Hutchinson MTB line of tires like the Toro would be a fine addition to your stable of cycling equipment.
